Black Ghosts' Requiem
Below: The lowest layer of the world. The ocean’s surface is extends in all directions with island chains jutting out from below the waves.
Core: Central land mass that is considered the most habitable. Before the Sundering most of the Core was the world’s surface.
Crystal Abyss: Open air throughout the world, away and far above any land mass.
Devouring Gardens: Great, ever-growing forest that once was a home of Thiir’vaas nation. As a result of powerful magics gone awry, the forest today coexists in the Prime Material and Feywild. Whats more, things never stop growing there. There are trees in the deep parts of the forest that grow up from Umbra all the way to high Sunscape, as high as thirty miles. All life grows at an incredible rate there, and anything that remains motionless too long is quickly overgrown.
Sundering: A great calamity during which the world separated into the various layers of earthmotes. The five layers are the Below, Umbra, Core, Sunscape and Highcurrent. Each layer does not have an easily defined boundary.
Sunscape: Earthmote layer directly above the Core. Sunscape extends roughly ten mile above the old “sea level” of the Core.
The Widow’s Veil : A curtain of rocky reefs stretching all the way up from Umbra to Sunscape, impassable to anything larger than a corvette.Even most smaller ships avoid crossing the Veil, except through a navigable pass between Falcon’s Rest and Veil’s Cut.
Umbra: Layer of tightly packed earthmotes below the Core. Any large cities in the Umbra are along the edges of the land masses, as air travel outside of the open air of the Crystal Abyss is near suicide.
